LISC's Gerard Joab Noted in New Jersey Business magazine

In New Jersey Business, Gerard Joab, senior program director of LISC Greater Newark and Jersey City, discusses Newark Mayor Cory Booker's first year in office and the downtown revitalization efforts underway. Newark residents have had very high expectations for Booker, whose open-door policy led to a steady stream of ideas and complaints since the start of his term. While change doesn't happen overnight, Joab believes that Newark is progressing. Projects that Newark LISC is helping advance, notably the $40-million Lincoln Park development with its signature Museum of African American Music, show great promise in delivering much needed employment opportunities, as well as providing safe places for young people to go.
