The conference featured workshops, neighborhood nightlife events, community tours and
roundtable discussions – sharing the tools and lessons from LISC/Chicago’s New Communities
Program. There was also a breakfast for LISC sites and their guests on Day 2 to discuss
specific topics related to the role of LISC in comprehensive community development.
Who would be interested?
The conference was aimed at practitioners – LISC program directors and officers, Funders, CDC staff, LAC members, Government partners, and Community leaders – those grappling with how to plan, fund, manage, and complete comprehensive community development initiatives – preserving section 8 housing, building a network of community gardens, attracting a new retail development, etc.
