LISC | NFL Football Fields Program
Happy, active children; involved parents; community teamwork; neighbors meeting neighbors – all set against the backdrop of safe, revitalized greenspace.
The NFL Youth Football Fund Grassroots Program is a partnership of the National Football League Youth Football Fund and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation to provide non-profit, neighborhood-based organizations, middle schools and high schools with financing and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields.
To date, the LISC / NFL Football Fields Program has funded the redevelopment of two neighborhood football fields in Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky:
- The Saint Clair Heights Park Football Field located in North Fairmount, and
- The Avon Park Football Field located in Avondale.
Both football fields were redeveloped by local CDCs – the North Fairmount Community Center and the Injury Free Coalition for Kids – working in coordination with residents, local youth football leagues, the City of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Public Schools, and other stakeholders.
By working together to restore these football fields, the LISC / NFL Football Fields Program has been able to partner with two local CDCs to renew these community assets and offer residents opportunities for recreation, education, and relaxation that significantly enhance the local quality of life.
