LISC has been active in Hartford since 1984. The Hartford LISC program has helped CDCs to develop housing, commercial and community facilities that will stimulate the revitalization of Hartford’s distressed neighborhoods. Since its inception, LISC has provided support to CDCs to develop:



LISC investment of $13.5 million has leveraged $166.8 million of development in Hartford neighborhoods. This new development has attracted private investment capital back to Hartford neighborhoods. It has restored safety, beauty and vitality to Hartford streets and opened new opportunities—and hopes—for Hartford residents.


The Hartford LISC program has also been active in the public policy arena, working to develop programs and resources to support community development. At the state level, Hartford LISC was a leader in creating and establishing the Connecticut Historic Homes Tax Credit through the Connecticut General Assembly. This $3 million tax credit provides support for the rehabilitation of historic structures for homeownership in targeted areas.
