Mission / Vision Statement CDC-KC's mission is to provide jobs and job training, increase income, develop and expand business and ownership opportunities for low-income, minority and disadvantaged people, housing (low-income and market rate) and encourage economic self-sufficiency within the inner-city target community.
Neighborhoods Served All neighborhoods located within the boundaries of Independence Avenue (north) 75 th Street (south), I-435 (east) and Gillham Road (west), with current focuses in Santa Fe, Ivanhoe, Oak Park and Key Coalition.
Proudest Achievement We bridged the gap between low to moderate senior and market rate housing in our comprehensive development within the Citadel subdivision which included 22 new single-family homes and a 60-unit elderly housing complex known as Woodlands at Citadel. In addition, 70% of CDC-KC's operational funds are generated from its own developments and projects.
Priorities for 2006-2007 CDC-KC will continue the development of Project G on the northwest corner of 63 rd & Prospect by purchasing all real estate between 63rd to 62nd Street -- Prospect to Brooklyn, continue to pursue the redirection of the Metro Shopping Center, continue our efforts to reposition the two shopping centers at Linwood & Prospect, proceed with development plans for the 31st Street Corridor (north side – Prospect to B.R. Watkins Roadway) and the development of the Midtown Marketplace.
Programs, Products, Services Economic development, business acquisitions, single family housing, multi-family housing, commercial development, real estate development feasibility and planning studies, senior housing, construction management, facilities management, for-profit real estate development and construction management services, commercial real estate acquisitions, neighborhood development, SBA Small Business Technical Assistance Program and national technical assistance and consulting services to non-profit business enterprises.
