Priorities 2008-2009

CHWC continues its efforts in the St. Peters neighborhood with the Cathedral Pointe development. Additional single family homes and town-homes are planned for the development.  In March 2008, CHWC will break ground on the Village of Fountains senior living campus, in the Bethany neighborhood. The first of its kind for urban core Kansas City, Village of Fountains will offer both assisted and independent living facilities in a park-like setting.  Affordable single family homes are also slated for development in the Bethany neighborhood.  Phase II of the Strawberry Hill Town Homes will begin construction in 2008, providing an additional 6 market rate town homes addressing the increasing need of urban living.  The CSI program will be expanded to more adequately address crime and safety issues while continuing with the highly successful CSI Youth Program that offers after school arts-based diversionary programs to elementary and middle school students.  CHWC continues to offer bilingual financial literacy and credit counseling sessions as needed.

Programs, Products, Services CHWC provides home ownership opportunities by constructing new single-family homes and purchasing/rehabbing existing homes. These homes are then sold to families/persons whose incomes range from low to moderate. Special financial assistance may be available to those potential homeowners whose income is below 80% of the metro area median income. In addition, CHWC provides owner occupied rehab loans as well as primary and secondary home mortgage products to clients who meet eligibility requirements. CHWC also provides bilingual (English/Spanish) financial literacy counseling to its clients.
