Help Bring Kansans Home
Greater Kansas City LISC and the Kansas State Policy Network sponsored seven regional meetings in November which were held throughout the state. Over 145 citizens, 15 Kansas State Representatives and three State Senators learned how a permanent funding source for the Kansas State Housing Trust Fund would help ensure all Kansans a home. The meetings also provided an opportunity to hear about the affordable housing concerns of each region across the state.
Kansas State Housing Trust Fund Uses Kansas needs to provide an ongoing dedicated, consistent funding stream that expands and enhances the current State Housing Trust Fund. This funding source will assist in ensuring safe, decent, affordable and accessible housing for Kansans, contribute to the economic vitality of all urban, suburban and rural communities and leverage available funding and resources. Populations/Kinds of Programs HTF would serve:
- Homeless
- Very low income
- Low income
- Workforce
- Special needs (accessible)
- Construction and rehab
