Mission / Vision Statement To improve the general well-being of communities by developing health and family services, increasing educational and employment opportunities, and building quality, affordable housing .
Neighborhoods Served Mt. Cleveland, Sheraton Estates, Swope-Parkway-Elmwood, Town Fork Creek, Blue Hills, Ivanhoe, Vineyard, Leeds Dunbar, and technical assistance to the Tri-Blenheim neighborhood.
Proudest Achievement

The successful expansion of our holistic model for community development, that includes:

  • Renovation of Ridgeview Heights , winner of the 2003 Governor's Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing
  • Completion of Twin Elms Senior Housing Community
  • Locating a Fortune 500 Company to the Blue Parkway Town Center , the H&R Block Service and Technology Center
  • Completing the second Blue Parkway Office Building that is the new home to HEDFC, The Dalmark Group, FirstGuard Health Plan, Mazuma Credit Union and Swope Community Builders
Priorities Swope Community Builders will begin construction on the 150,000 sq. ft. retail phase of Blue Parkway Town Center. By August 30, 2006, Swope Community Builders will complete 215 units of affordable multi-family housing and 170 units of new for-sale single-family housing. Swope Community Builders will expand the Urban Youth Theater and the Youth Police Academy/Explorer programs by 25%. We will also continue growth of the Community Safety Initiative and other community related events that support the priority issues of safety, health and economic development.
