Greater Kansas City LISC supports redevelopment in more than 100 square miles of metro area neighborhoods. Our efforts have translated into more than 5,500 new and rehabbed houses and apartments; the development of 1.4 million square feet of retail and commercial space; and increased the capital of CDCs more than $34 million.

Why Community & Economic Development?
Kansas City is witnessing the birth of a first-class downtown arena, a greatly expanded world-renowned museum of art and a world-class performing arts center. To these we can add a more robust downtown, Crown Center, a revitalized City Market and a newly reconstructed Brush Creek. Yet the long-term success of each project depends on the stability and quality of the adjacent communities. These neighborhoods must be able to attract individuals, families and investors to sustain economic development and provide a solid tax base. In addition, the surrounding areas must offer affordable, attractive and quality housing. Greater Kansas City LISC is the catalyst at the grass-roots level.
