Core Program Grants and Loans
Operating Support Grants enable LISC to
provide a wide range of operational and technical assistance grants directly to
CDCs. These grants are used by the
CDCs for costs related to staffing, feasibility studies, strategic planning,
upgrading management systems and other technical assistance
needs.
Recoverable Grants are a revolving pool
of funds through which LISC provides CDCs with funding to cover predevelopment
expenses related to project development.
Costs covered include items such as site option deposits, environmental
studies, appraisals, architectural/engineering fees and
permits.
Loans are provided below
market rate to CDCs for site acquisition, construction financing and short-term funding
gap needs to develop housing, commercial and facility projects.
