David most recently served as Vice President of Arizona Operations for McCormack Baron & Salazar. He oversaw the firm’s role in Henson Village, a HOPE VI project – a 611-unit mixed-income/mixed-financed residential development located in Phoenix, funded in part by a $35 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Prior to McCormack Baron & Salazar, David served as the Senior Deputy Director of Fannie Mae’s Arizona Partnership Office. Working in tandem with the Director, he was responsible for implementing “HouseArizona,” a five-year, $15 billion investment plan to finance affordable housing throughout the state. David spent three years as Program Officer with the LISC Phoenix and eight years for Bank One, managing and underwriting residential and commercial loans. David holds a B.S. in Business from Arizona State University (ASU) and an M.B.A. from the ASU School of Global Management.

Deborah Bateman is as the Executive Vice President and Director of Sales and Service Strategies at National Bank of Arizona (NBA), reporting directly to NBA’s President and Chief Executive Officer since 2005. Maria Echeveste is a Senior Vice President and Community Impact Manager for Arizona and Nevada. Frank Enriquez is a Senior Vice President with Meridian Bank. Robert Gardiner is Senior Vice President and Senior Credit Officer for Northern Trust, N.A in Arizona and Colorado. In this position, Rob is responsible for the bank’s multi-billion dollar loan portfolio in terms of credit approval and credit quality.

Steven Gervais is a Senior Public Affairs Representative for Pinnacle West Capital Corporation, the parent company of APS and SunCor Development Company. In January 1987 began working for SunCor, a real estate development company, as one of a handful of initial employees. Soon thereafter, he was elected to serve as Vice President and General Counsel. In his capacity at SunCor, Steve assisted in the acquisition and development of properties, golf courses, planned communities, commercial retail and office projects throughout Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Idaho. A graduate of MIT School of Architecture's Design and Housing Program, Daniel Glenn is a licensed architect with twenty years of experience in the design of affordable, sustainable housing and communities in urban and rural environments across the U.S. As an Associate in the firm of Tise, Hurwitz and Diamond in Boston, he led the design efforts on a dozen HOPE VI projects in cities around the country, including Boston, Indianapolis, Houston, and New Haven. Since 1998, he has been principal of his consulting firm, Glenn & Glenn Design Associates, which specializes in culturally and environmentally responsive architecture. As Associate Director for Design at the Arizona State University Stardust Center for Affordable Homes and the Family, Daniel directs the Center's many design projects, which seek to provide models of affordable and sustainable housing, while providing direct service to the region's non-profit and private affordable housing developers, and city and tribal governments.
Daniel’s design work has received regional and national recognition, including the Valley Forward Association's Crescordia for Environmental Excellence (2007), the Governor's Housing Heroes Award for Sustainable Design (2007), the ACSA's Collaborative Practice Award (2003), and the Boston Society of Architects Housing Design Award (1998). Daniel is a volunteer Board Member of Navajo FlexCrete, serving this Navajo Corporation as a professional advisor to provide expertise in culturally and environmentally responsive design.

Jim Hassenbein is the Vice President and Senior Commercial Real Estate Lender with the Community Development Lending (CDL) Group of Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. In this role, Jim delivers financial products that support development and revitalization of low- to moderate-income communities within Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico
He has significant experience with affordable housing and community development financing options including Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Tax-Exempt Bond financing and New Markets Tax Credits. He began his banking career in 1990 as a commercial real estate lender with Star Bank in Cincinnati. In 1995, Jim joined Bank One (now JPMorgan Chase) in Dayton financing residential developments and opening Bank One’s Community Development real Estate (CDRE) office in Cincinnati. In 2003, he closed the first of its kind FNMA-enhanced tax-exempt bond transaction using low-income housing tax credits and HUD’s Market-to-Market program, something no other bank in the country had been successful in achieving. Jim came to Phoenix in 2004 to assume management of JPMorgan Chase’s CDRE office covering Arizona and Utah, later assuming management of Wells Fargo’s CDL office in Phoenix.

Lydia Lee is Vice President and Regional Manager of National Community Relations for JPMorgan Chase’s operations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah. Hector Penunuri is a Senior Planning Analyst in the Marketing and Relationship Management department of the Salt River Project (SRP). After earning his Bachelor’s of Science in advertising from Northern Arizona University, Hector worked as Marketing Manager for Marriott International. Raul Yzaguirre is Presidential Professor of Practice at Arizona State University (ASU) and has established the Center for Community Development and Civil Rights which focuses on community development, education for practitioners, program-based solutions and academic scholarship.
Raul has dedicated his life to civil rights and improving opportunities for Hispanic Americans. In 1964, he founded the National Organization for Mexican American Services (NOMAS), which led to the first comprehensive studies of the Mexican American community and their unique social, economic and cultural issues. This proposal serves as the conceptual framework for the National Council of La Raza (NCLR).
From 1974 to 2004, Raul served as President and Chief Executive Officer of NCLR as it grew into the largest national constituency-based Latino organization in the U.S. and the leading Hispanic think tank in Washington, D.C. Under his leadership, NCLR emerged as the most influential and respected Hispanic organization in the country.
Raul is a frequent commentator on Latino issues, appearing on NBC Nightly News, ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News and The Today Show.
