Desert Mission Neighborhood Renewal and Housing Our Community

Vogel Town Homes A groundbreaking partnership!
Desert Mission Neighborhood Renewal (DMNR) held the official groundbreaking for its 12-unit Vogel Townhomes in Sunnyslope this December. By partnering with Housing Our Communities (HOC) to build the units, Community Housing Resources of Arizona (CHRA) to provide homebuyer counseling, the City of Phoenix for construction financing and down payment assistance, and the Arizona Department of Housing for acquisition funds and down payment assistance, DMNR is able to sell the units affordably.

Historically, DMNR has developed single-family homes. This two-story townhome project is a first, enabling DMNR to provide affordable new homes for working families despite rising costs of construction and land. Remarkably, two wage earners making as little as $7 per hour each can qualify to buy one of these units. LISC Phoenix was happy to celebrate the groundbreaking with DMNR and HOC, both participants in LISC’s three-year Organizational Development Initiative.
