(NFL Grassroots Grant Process)

Can we receive an initial cash advance or is the grant only distributed once receipts and invoices are submitted?
Yes, it possible to get a cash advance so that work can begin on your field. In order to receive the initial payment, please submit the following items:
- Signed grant agreement letter
- Pictures of the field
- Signed contract between the organization and vendor for fieldwork
If there is an increase in project costs, is it possible that the NFL can increase their grant amount?
No, unfortunately grant amounts cannot be increased if there are increases in project costs.
What happens if match funding commitment falls through?
Please notify the LISC National Grassroots Office immediately and the office may be able to help you find additional funding.

What happens if our project scope changes (i.e. grass field to synthetic field or synthetic field to grass field)?
Please contact the LISC National Office immediately so that we can discuss the new scope of your project and how to move ahead with the project.
Can our grant period be extended past 18 months?
Yes, if there are unforeseen delays or a change in the project scope, an extension can be granted. Please notify the LISC office immediately if you anticipate needing a grant period extension.
Do you recommend any particular turf or equipment company?
No, the NFL and the NFL Grassroots Program does not endorse any particular turf company for your projects.
Can alternate contracts (i.e. non AIA forms) be submitted?
Yes, alternate contracts will be accepted as longs as they clearly delineate the work that is being done on the field.
For the reporting requirements, how do you document in-kind services?
To document in-kind services, please determine the dollar amount of what the cost would be for the in-kind services and note that amount on the reporting form.

Is there a standard reporting form or format that should be used for grant reports?
Yes, the LISC National Grassroots office will email this report to each of our grantee contacts, or please access it below.
