Building Sustainable Communities
Twin Cities LISC was selected as one of 11 local sites to help pursue and implement National LISC's strategic plan that focuses on building sustainable communities. Our approach will focus on deepening community engagement in neighborhoods, promoting holistic community development strategies, and providing accountability for action and results.
LISC Sustainable Communities Demonstration
Building sustainable, healthy communities requires a comprehensive approach that includes not only physical improvements, but also stronger neighborhood economies, access to greater local services, better education programs, and financial training and support for residents. LISC is committed to supporting this approach through the follow five goals:
- Expanding capital investment in housing and other real estate development.
- Increasing family income, wealth and employment.
- Stimulating local economic activity and connections to the regional economy and beyond.
- Improving access to quality education.
- Supporting healthy environments and lifestyles.
Twin Cities LISC is developing public and private partnerships to help build sustainable communities. Invest St. Paul is the first partnership opportunity for TC LISC.
